Singer-songwriter, Janie Bay’s ‘Die Heelal’ featuring Early B official video has now surpassed the 100K views mark on YouTube

12th February 2020, Johannesburg – This past weekend, Singer-songwriter, Janie Bay’s ‘Die Heelal’ featuring Early B official video has now surpassed the 100K views mark on YouTube. This milestone is celebrated alongside the fact that Janie`s music reached 1 Million streams across all her platforms in 2019.

The official video for the dreamy Afrikaans language pop hit-song, which is currently topping various radio charts in South Africa, was released on 6th December 2019.

Janie had this to say, “I was so surprised when I heard about the 1 Mill streams and I'm super grateful for all the love and support with "Die Heelal" also. I hope that the new songs will also touch people’s hearts and lives.

Janie Bay's music career has had many highlights in the past few years. She signed a record deal with Warner Music SA in 2016 and her album "Miscellany"(2017) was nominated for a SAMA. The song "Can`t be the One" from this album won a Gold Award for "Best Music in a Video" at the Queen Palm International Film Festival in Palm Springs, California in 2018. Videos of collaborations between Janie and several well-known South African artists including Jack Parow, Hunter Kennedy, Bouwer Bosch and Jan Bloukaas have collectively been viewed more than 500 000 times on YouTube.

Hunter Kennedy, who collaborated with Janie on the hit song “Wag vir Jou” feels that she is an important artist in the current SA Music landscape: “Janie Bay is the authentic Alternative Pop Voice that I have been waiting for.”

Janie`s music can also be heard in the local movies “Mooirivier” and “Vir Altyd”. She also recorded her own version of “You are my Sunshine” for the movie “Stroomop.”
