JHB SOUTH AFRICA – THE amazingly talented America’s Got Talent contestant Jane Marczewski, going by the stage name: Nightbirde says her “health has taken a turn for the worse and the fight with cancer is demanding all [her] energy and attention”.

The Ohio-based 30-year old singer told the AGT Judges during her audition, which aired early June and was uploaded on YouTube on 9 June 2021, that she had cancer in her lungs, spine and liver. She did her audition with an original song: "It's OK", telling the story of her life in the last year while facing cancer. Almost 31 million people have viewed her audition video on YouTube.

On Monday, 2 August 2021, she announced on Instagram, that she “won’t be able to continue forward on this season of AGT”. She wrote: “I am planning my future, not my legacy. Pretty beat up, but I’ve still got dreams.”

Thousands of people have donated to her GoFundMe account and has raised more than $ 434,000. It was founded to help pay for cancer treatments that Nightbirde says is not covered by her insurance. You can also buy your Nightbirde merchandise at Redbubble.

Rian Pelati, DJ and CEO of Let’s Go Big Tunes, said: “supporting Nightbirde in her fight against cancer, lies very close to my heart as I have lost family members to the disease and I encourage people to also go and support her.”

Nightbirde made an extremely emotional video call with the AGT Judges on Friday, the 13th of August where a very emotional Simon Cowell told her she already won. According to AGT her audition video, “It’s Okay” was viewed over 200 million times, a song she wrote in the middle of the night when she needed the lyrics the most. Howie Mandel also said she “became the poster girl for people suffering adversity.”

Rian also added: “I think the song “It’s Okay” is one of the most incredible inspirational songs I have heard in my DJ career. When you listen to it, it gives you courage to face your own demons and battles. I can’t wait for a remix to be released so that I can use it in my mixes. With “It’s Okay” she put new energy into one of my favorite quotes of all time ‘Everything will be alright in the end, and if it’s not alright, then it’s not the end yet’.”

Although we won’t be able to follow Nightbirde on America’s Got Talent any more, she can be followed on YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram.
